Project Summary
This project aims to strengthen protection and access to justice for refugees in Duhok, KRI, by providing free legal assistance, including legal counselling and representation, in line with UNHCR priorities. Through this support, refugees are better able to understand their rights, resolve legal issues, and access national systems in a safe and dignified manner. The project also supports community engagement and accountability through the continued operation of UNHCR’s Unified Hotline, which serves as a centralized channel for refugees and asylum seekers across Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to submit inquiries, feedback, and complaints. In addition, the project includes Post-Distribution Monitoring activities to assess the effectiveness and accessibility of cash assistance, helping to improve the quality and responsiveness of humanitarian support.
