Protection and Assistance Center (PAC):
 
Funded by UNHCR and run by Harikar local NGO - Established in Jun 2006.

Objective of (PAC):

1. To assist persons of concerns to access and enjoy their rights in light of international Standards and according to relevant bodies of law.
2. To enhance knowledge of relevant protection issues.
3. To enhance effectiveness of UNHCR protection and assistance programs by also ensuring gender sensitive approaches.

Beneficiaries:
(persons of concern to UNHCR): refugees, asylum seekers, IDPs, returnees, and stateless persons.

Activities of (PAC):

1. Legal assistance (Provide persons of concern with free legal information and legal representation in courts and before administrative bodies).
2. Protection Monitoring (To monitor persons of concern and places of displacement and return).
3. Identification of protection needs (Based on information gathered from protection monitoring, PAC refers to UNHCR on the key needs in respective areas).
4. Capacity building (Support key local authorities and encourage link with civil society and national NGOs to raise awareness on individuals’ rights.
5. Advocacy (speaks and acts on behalf of persons of concern to promote protection and response to violations).

1. Distribution of NFI, sanitary napkins, hygiene kits, school uniform, transportation fees.
2. Conducting seminars and conferences on Sexual and Gender - Based violence.
3. Distribution of leaflets on PAC.
4. Undertaking field visits by mobile teams to locations of persons of concern.
