Training of Prison staff for Children/ women Reformatory Center in Dohuk
Governorate on Human rights
This project implemented in collaboration with the Dohuk Women/Children
reformatory centre management and in consultation with Aladalah network. The
main purpose of the project was to disseminate prisoners' rights and basic
fundamental human rights and principles based on National and International
related treaties to 134 members of management in Reformatory Center of children
and women in Dohuk.
This project targeted all staff working at Dohuk Women/Children Reformatory
centre (male and female) with special focus on female guards and social workers
as they were in direct contact with the women prison at the centre. As observed,
15 female guards and 4 female social workers were actively involved in the
project implementation to assure that the privacy of services to women at the
centre is assured and all their rights are protected.
However, 6 training workshops for the prison staff, each lasted for 3 days and
were organized for 25 staff based on the prepared materials; monitoring training
and project activities.
